A year ago it was said that Toyotas Premium luxury brand Lexus is planing to make their debut in Indian market,Considering Toyotas huge presence in India They were planing for an official launch in start of
2013.At 2011 Tokyo Motor show Toyota announced that Lexus will soon start operation in India with
Lexus IS,GS,LS and RX 350 Suv. Now Due to Economic Uncertanities Toyota Officially Annonced
That Lexus is not coming to India In Near future.


Sandeep Singh MD of Toyota Kirloskar Motors Said That "Imprt duty is a major hurdle as far as
Lexus is being concerned.we have only plans to import vehichles and not make them here".
Steep Hike In Import duties by our goverment is a major reason.and also depreciation of  Indian
Rupee Is worrying them.Because Of This they will be Forced To apply higher pricing and also
They will get negligible profit loss from this propotion. So this will be a  big risk for them to debut
in indian market.


Lexus is one of the prominant brands famous for their succes in a short duration,
and probably the only Japanese Brand That Can compete with german auto giants
like BMW,AUDI and MERCEDS. The sales of luxury cars is always on ups and
downs here. on extreme end we have Mercedes Benz with lowest sales. and the
current leader AUDI and previous leader BMW is doing not bad.so there isnt
much a chance For A New luxury brand. Also Lexus have Limited number of
Diesel variants under their stable which will defenitly matters here.
  so altogether its bad news For those people who loves the pure luxury and
Ride quality of The brand Lexus, That They Have To wait a long.
